I got myself a new pair of gym shoes just before Xmas, which helped kick start my New Year’s resolution list. After telling myself, “These are awesome shoes, you are going to kick butt at the gym …” I started thinking of more things I should/need to do to make 2012 better.
1) Eat wisely – Yes, I tell that to myself every day, but it’s the same story. I should pause and reflect before putting 50 m&ms into my mouth.
2) Scope out the job scene – Sure the perks are great but I’m starting to feel restless. By March? *fingers crossed*
3) Spend more time communicating with the family – Less texting/e-mailing and more chats on the phone.
4) Read something – I notice I just don’t read books these days. Sure I read the news sites, blogs, gossip sites but good fiction writing is something else. Maybe I need a Kindle ….
5) Be settled – As much as I love Melbourne, I’m still unsure if it’s the place I want to live and die at. Perhaps I need to travel the world first …
6) Sweat more – Apart from pushing myself at the gym, I should join more running events, swim more and maybe Tough Mudder?
7) Explore recipes – Enough of stews and curries! I love watching cooking shows and should start cooking a different dish a week.
I will check back on this list some time in June to see whether I’ve ticked something off.
