Tiny Lunch Box In My Hand

I’ve heard Vue De Monde and Bistro Vue are amazing restaurants though I have yet to try. Shocking, right? So I figured I would start off easy by heading to Cafe Vue (Little Collins St) for lunch. It’s a cosy cafe that serves breakfast and lunch, and boy are they busy during lunch time. I didn’t want to hang around for a sit-down so I decided on their lunch box for $15.

My lunch box was a pine nut pesto with garlic parmesan croutons, a salad of cherry tomatoes, herbs and feta, a wagyu meatball sandwich and passionfruit pavlova.

The parmesan croutons were quite hard to bite into but I really liked the pesto. The salad was refreshing but the meatballs for the sandwich were cold. It felt unloved. The passionfruit pavlova on the other hand was pretty amazing. The pavlova itself had a lovely chewy texture, not too sweet, while the tangy passionfruit curd was a nice tease on the tastebuds.

Excited and hungry, I pretty much finished everything in 10 minutes. The servings were tiny! I could’ve had as a snack rather than for lunch.

My next step, Bistro Vue.
